On a youtube video about the slug things in the nightmare frontier (I forgot what they're called) I found a cool theory about the kos parasites. Pretty sure it isn't true since I think it doesn't fit in the timeline, but I love the idea/concept regardless. "This creature made me remember the parasites of Kos. There exist a parasite in real life that usually infests snails, slowly growing inside them until they become big enough. They force the snail to reach a high elevation, where they then attract the attention of birds by making the snail’s vesicular eyes bright and girthy, more like flailing worms. Birds then look at the snails, attracted by their appearance as if they were juicy worms, eating them and then the parasite infesting the bird. There is a theory that the Schoolars that found Kos in the fishing village were infected with the parasite, making them erratic and attempt their ploy to attract the Great Ones. And maybe… maybe everything was just to make the parasite reach another Great One. Everything is just a sickly nasty cycle of a damn parasite."

Does this community want a sequel to bloodborne? Yeah i think i might know the answer but still cool to get people's opinions.
I made a previous post talking about how Laurence being on fire may be representative of him trying to purify his beasthood, and I want to add on that as he is eternally burning, it may represent how he will never be purified, or ever reclaim his humanity again.
Bloodborne is one of my favorite games of all time, but it has an issue that bothered me even in my first few playthroughs, and especially in my most recent ones it's become almost a major flaw in my eyes.
Enemy variety and, even more than that, enemy design. Not their visual design, but their mechanics, and with the almost poor variety it gets only worse.
Bloodborne's combat and trick weapons feel really great to use when pitted against its best enemies, which are oddly concentrated in the early game. But by the time you reach the Forbidden Woods, more than half of the game left, the enemies don't do nearly a good enough job of bringing out the full potential of the system. Too much focus on their visuals and atmosphere, and less on making fighting against them fun. They're not unfair or outright boring, but most are either too easy or don't encourage the aggressive but still calculated style this game is going for (or both).
The DLC helped, especially with the old hunters and nightmare executioners, but even then the patients are spammy and easy to stagger, and the fishmen are way too basic. By that point and even earlier than that, I feel quite discouraged about trying out a cool weapon I hadn't used yet, one of the really good things about the Soulsborne games. I imagine many rush to the boss on repeat playthroughs, but I like to clean out areas and use the basic mobs to practice with a new weapon I choose to use, but that idea starts to feel almost pointless and disheartening less than halfway through.
Sucks to say this, but I really think that only Demon's Souls and Dark Souls have worse enemy variety/design than BB. Yes, below even DS2; enemy placement and numbers could've been much better, but their overall mechanical design is superior in my eyes.
Sorry for it being so long, but I hope I made my personal biggest gripe with the game clear, and would love to hear your thoughts.
After playing with the Holy Blade, Boom Hammer and Church Pick i would like to try making a build for the Saw Cleaver or Burial Blade. So, what tips do you guys have to share based on your hunts?
Have to say, was so surprised to get summoned for a fight in the dungeons that i almost forgot how to play the game. Ended up with me showing the way to the lever for the host 🤣.
My mind has been going blank, how many days has it been, how many more hours will i have to put into this game to get everything maxed withouth using shortcuts, ill come back but ill have to reset the entire progress
In Bloodborne's lore we learn the the Pthumerians are a race of superhumans who came in contact with the eldritch truth. However, they are far more humanoid than any Great one we've seen which begs the question. Could the Pthumerians have been affected in a similar manner to the inhabitants if the Fishing Hamlet? In the Hamlet's story we discover the involvement of Byrgenwerth and the Hunters if the workshop in the tragedy that followed after the defilement of Kos' remains. There the inhabitants are all changed due to the Great Ones' influence as well and as such, could we think that history just repeated itself in the Hamlet? What if a similar tragedy took place in the past whose effects on the Pthumerians still ripple in the present?
The player going through the story chalices mirrors the fishing hamlet massacre. Both are homes to a race of people altered by the great ones, in which they are invaded and massacred by an outside force seeking knowledge and power (Players seeking lore or loot), and end in a pregnant mother being torn from her child (3 third cord and the paperweight Yharnam gives you). Another thing I've noticed is that you could say repeat playthroughs are the player going "Blooddrunk" since, unlike the first playthrough, you're going through with a hitlist of bosses and not getting too involved in the story. (This is different for some people but most people I've seen do repeat playthroughs like this).
I just realized how do we know that the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst is called that. Or the hunters of despair in the nightmare? Are they listed in the files or something, or are they just fan made like Shadow of the Colossus?

I've been doing a gun only run and I thought I'd keep a progress log here of things that happened. I chose noble scion as my starting class and spent 7 minutes getting wolf skip. I then went backwards through the forbidden woods and got the lantern. I spent a very long time in Yharnam due to having to avoid every single enemy without getting hit since vials and bullets are a rare commodity. I used the 2 huntsmen at the FW lantern to grind to 19 bloodtinge, upgraded my gun to +2, then killed the cleric beast on my 2nd try. I then put one level in health and the rest in bloodtinge and went off to kill Gascoigne. He killed me and I needed to grind a bit more, but when I came back I killed him 2nd try. I spent all my coldblood to buy the emblem, which gave me access to Hemwick in which I spent all my molotovs getting to the witches. The witches killed me twice, once with an AOE attack, and the second time the final witch stunned and grabbed me when she was at near death and instantly killed me since I only put like 3 levels in health at that point. 3rd time was the charm since that was when the witches finally went down. I then equipped the impurity rune and the level 3 communion rune. I also discovered that the imposter Iosefka stands still on the bed she lays on during the blood-moon when you enter the clinic during the evening phase. You can kill her and get her cord, but when you enter sunset phase, the Imposter will seem to have respawned and will attack you when you enter her room. I'm guessing that the blood-moon imposter is a different npc from regular imposter, and they're switched out when you kill Rom.
In the Hunter's Nightmare all of the beast enemies are beast patients (and one blood-starved beast), but there's no scourge beasts. Since the nightmare contains the church's worst sins, this could mean that the beast patients are caused by the church. This adds onto the theory of the church poisoning old Yharnam with ashen blood, along with the river of blood where old Yharnam's river would probably be, and the blood lickers that are drinking from it are the only ones in the game that poison the player. I know this theory is confirmed in the comics, but it's still nice having more in-game evidence for it without having to go to outside sources.
There's always another rumor every couple of months so I was curious on what others thoughts might be personally I would love for the rally system to return, and for the insight system to be more expended on mechanicaly
If willing, please share your own, as many as you want.
Hunter Axe - Excellent overall utility, with a relatively fast one-handed form, and a slightly slower trick form that might be the best crowd control weapon in the game. The rally is ridiculously strong, and the combo potential with this weapon is one of the best, next to the Rakuyo
Whirligig Saw - The damage is sky-high, pretty fast for its size, and the concept of it is just cool as all hell
Holy Moonlight Sword - Moveset is pretty simple, but very effective, and always very fun to play with. Also, the damage is huge and is used by the best boss in the game
Rakuyo - The widest set of combos in the game, with a flow of moves that is as smooth as butter. You can buff it with papers too
Simon's Bowblade - The only truly long range trick weapon in the game, it offers some of the best overall utility in the game
Boomhammer - I like it when things go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIXdaEAgC9U
Ludwig's Holy Blade - Very satisfying switching between one of the fastest weapons in the game and one of the heaviest hitting
Church Pick - Strong against basically everything, with paper buffs further enhancing its damage. Fun moveset in both forms, though the weapon does have a slightly boring look
Blade of Mercy - Super fast but also pretty technically satisfying in the right hands. Used by one of the best NPCs in Bloodborne
Beasthunter Saif - Possesses the invaluable ability to quickly close the gap, and while damage is middling, the moves are fun, even in its trick form in a pretty odd way
Mary Christmas everyone, and hope you have a happy new year.
I have a theory ^... it might be kinda obvious and I'm just dumb, but anyways. Yk how hunters get sent to the Nightmare cause they've been naughty. So Defector Antal (I think that's how you spell it), why would he be in the Nightmare if he was trying to undo the school of mensis's weird mistakes? Yes, he was at first a kidnapper for them and probably helped cause some of the things they did, Ik Ik. But could this mean there's no redemption from past mistakes? Or could it imply he was sent there to protect eldritch truths from others that seek the answers? (And possibly locked himself in a closet on accident but he could just be fooling around and pranking people, who knows!) Lemme know what you think and if any of that made sense!
